I was making my bed today and as I was fluffing my blanket, I realized how lucky we are to have blankets in the first place. God bless the individual who hypothesized that interwoven cotton would provide comfort to the coveree. Perhaps this thought wasn’t well received in the beginning. Like any revolutionary thinker, this person may have been ridiculed, denounced, shunned, stoned, beaten, laughed at, ignored, belittled, dismissed, and so on by the wool blanket industry or whatever the hell was going on back then. But that won’t stop the true thinker. Without such tenacity, we may have never know what it is to feel such softness. And whenever we want! I call that freedom. So the next time you feel comforted by a blanket, quilt, bedsheet, duvet cover, pillow case, t-shirt and so on, remember that it all came so close to never happening.

Sam asked for my site to go pink for a while and I obliged.

Last night I saw the Dave Matthews Band at Fenway Park in Boston, MA. They were amazing. Sheryl Crow was an awesome opener and the energy of the ballpark was awesome. The band played a nostalgic set list mixed with new songs and even included a cover of Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” that was unexpected yet well received. Pics from the show and the hotel room are here.
